The Studies of 2,2¢¥-Methylene bis (3,4,6-trichlorophenoxy acetic acid on Clonorchis Sinensisl

Abstract
In order to obtain a therapeutic agents which have larger therapeutic index than hexachlorophene on the Clonorchiasis, 2,2¢¥-methylene bis(3,4,6 trichlorophenoxy acetic acid) (MTPA) was synthesized from hexachlorophene, and its therapeutic effects were compared with those of hexachlorophene, 2,2¢¥-methylene bis (3,4,6 trichlorophenoxy sulfonic acid) (MTPS) and 2,2¢¥-methylene bis (3,4,6 trichlorophnoxy methylate) (HTPS) on clonorchis sinensis in vitro and on infected rabbits.
The results were as follows.
1) fhe parasiticidal effect of MTPA in vitro was less than that of hexachlorophene and HCPP while more effective than that of MTPS and MTPM (Table 2).
2) Rabbits were medicated with MTPA, daily dose of 5§·£¯§¸, 10§·£¯§¸, 15§·£¯§¸, and 20§·£¯§¸ for 5 days respectively. 5§·£¯§¸ appeared to be a little effect while from 10§·£¯§¸ were remarkable. (Table 3) .
3) The effect of hexachlorophene, HCPP, MTPA, MTPS and MTPM were compared each other with dose of 5§·£¯§¸, 10§·£¯§¸, 20§·£¯§¸ and 50§·£¯§¸ for 10 days respectively. The effect of hexachlorophene, HCPP and MTPA was almost the same and they were more effective than that of MTPS and MTPM.(Table 4).
